Global lottery winner lives in shanty-Africa by Richard Bowden
Shanty-Africa has been short on good news of late, but after a succession of winners in the United
Europe Territories, the latest recipient of the 30 trillion UN lottery price has been announced as
living in New Lagos. There's a problem. The latest information has it that they are within one of
the massive AIDS reservations that have been a blot on the African continent for decades. Finding the
lucky winner will be challenging to say the least, and even with his or her massive wealth they may
still find it difficult to leave the area, which has been in continental quarantine for a year or 2
now. However for the right amounts, teams have gone in to retrieve individuals before, and it is
almost certain that, somewhere in the depths of some Western megalopolis, a plan is being put into
place even now. What ever happens, controversy is sure to emerge from any 'rescue operation'; many of
the resettled AIDS victims from the West have stabilised their condition sufficiently with the
generation of super-drugs to make rejoining their loved ones a desperate priority. All of which has
led to renewed fears of another burst of illegal immigration back into the UET. Whether 1 man or
1,000, the European government will need to reaffirm the rigorous admission protocols in the light of
this latest announcement and regularise the worrisome rise in human traffic.
