Cake-boy revealed
by Starette Quark

2 children on McDonnelly Lane cloned cake-boy and kept him in the basement of their apartment house for a year. Older child, Haley Janeway said, "I told my parents we had a younger brother living in the basement, but no one would believe me. I even told my teacher and she got mad." Younger sister, Julia Janeway said, "We heard about the aliens in France. They said they were the 1st to clone a kid. Everybody believed them, but not us!"

The discovery of cake-boy was fully realised when the children saved up and purchased a disposable camera and took his picture. The photo prompted Mr Janeway to check the basement. He said, "It looks like the delivery boy at the bakery." Many area residents agree the clone's face is similar to Billy Buns. The clone's body is definitely one of the Buns Bakery's cake designs. An icing sample confirms his origin.

When asked about the inspiration for their clone, Haley Janeway said, "We wanted a pet." Mr Janeway had refused to purchase 1, so the sisters decided to clone an animal. "Like, Dolly, the sheep," Julia said. "But we couldn't find one to use. We couldn't find any pets. But, we like Billy. So, we decided to make a friend."

Tissue samplings for their project came from Billy's band-aid that had entangled in the string used to tie the box shut and scrapings of icing from inside the box. Asked about their process, the girls said, "We used our Betsy Crocket play oven."

The children keep cake-boy in a cool corner of the basement where they party with their new friend. "He was only a little cupcake, at first," Haley said, "But he keeps growing. He's 3 layers tall." Julia adds, "His icing is really tasty, but Pa won't let us keep him. He says we'll get too fat playing with him and our teeth will fall out."

Currently, the clone is rising to another layer and as he sheds his old frosting, it is projected he will be nearly 7 layers by the end of the year. Government officials will transfer cake-boy to secret facilities for further examination; however, they have agreed to bring him back to the Janeways' apartment to celebrate special occasions.
